With over two billion videos viewed and more than 450 million words translated, Viki brings global entertainment to nearly 30 million users worldwide.
Viki is seeking a Head of Content Acquisition to help reach our first 100 million users! Reporting directly to the CEO, the Head of Content Acquisition will be responsible for identifying, licensing and overseeing performance tracking of the company’s film and television streaming business. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Creating strategic short-and long-term programming plan with input from other stakeholders, including management, community and marketing teams
Identifying appropriate deals and participating in all aspects of negotiation, including pricing, regions and platform rights
Establishing positive, long-term relationship with key content providers worldwide
Working with regional content acquisition heads on global acquisition strategy and execution
Providing sales management with direction on revenue opportunities
Communicating strategy to internal and external stakeholders
Tracking performance and key industry trends and shifts
Preparing ad hoc reporting/analysis with support from data team
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree. MBA or additional professional certification highly desirable
Fluency in a second (or third) language preferred (Japanese, Korean or Mandarin a plus)
7+ years of experience in film or television industries
Ability to travel 20%+ of the time
