Our Engineering Managers need to be technical leaders and motivators who are comfortable leading these teams in a high-pressure, dynamic – and global – environment. Jobs are broadly defined and interact with Product Management, Sales and other groups at Google.
The role: Engineering Director
As an Engineering Director, you are a technical leader and motivator who is comfortable leading these teams in a high-pressure, dynamic – and global – environment. You will be responsible for the overall planning, execution, and success of large scale engineering projects.
The ideal candidate has a strong software background preferably with Internet experience, with a track record of strong coding and individual technical accomplishments. You possess an entrepreneurial drive, and a demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in an innovative and fast paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Drive innovative projects and provide leadership for a group of 40+ engineers.
Requirements:
• Masters degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science strongly preferred.
• At least 5 years relevant experience managing large, fast-paced and dynamic engineering teams.
• Strong project-management skills. Proven track record for product delivery.
• The ability to establish credibility with smart engineers quickly.
• Solid leadership skills including experience building strong engineering teams.
