The Director of Merchandising is responsible for meeting the needs of our customers by providing the right product in the right place at the right time while forging lasting partnerships with our vendor community. This responsibility is to include all planning, supporting budgeting and achievement of our earnings goals. Successful activities will be measured in Net Income, activations, gross profit per activation, handset buy down, and additional key metrics.
This position is responsible for ensuring the execution of the Merchandising strategy and New Business Programs in all Channels. Further, this person has a key role in the day to day relations with each Channel’s Merchandising team.

Directly responsible for delivering the Gross Profit per Activation for each channel as well as for delivering the Budgeted Market Development Funds (MDF) and Marketing Funds for each channel.
Responsible as a member of the Senior Management team for delivering the company’s Net Income budgets on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
Responsible for coaching monthly financial metrics and information to the Merchandising Channel Teams.
Responsible in partnership with the VP of Sales, for delivering the month gross and net activations for each Channel.
Responsible for earning all budgeted carrier spiffs, retention and volume incentives.
Responsible for the establishment, coaching and dissemination of on-going results, benchmarks and trends to the field management in order to deliver the desired key metric results. In addition, responsible for the communication of all corporate goal objectives and requirements and gaining ownership for such goals and objectives within the Merchandising Channel Team.
Responsible for ensuring that all Standards of Presentation for Store Merchandising as well as Visual Marketing.
Responsible for the management and coordination of all advertising, promotional development, approval requirements and fund collections. In addition, this position is responsible for raising the funds necessary to achieve all applicable budgets for all Channels. Responsible for the documentation and timely management of these funds, to ensure 100% timely collection.
Responsible for maintaining and building upon strong vendor and carrier relations.
Responsible for the development of the staff, in such a manner, that supports their roles and responsibilities at W.A.
Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the Merchant Channel Team, in an effort to achieve all goals.
Responsible for tracking competitive strengths, pricing and trends. Responsible for weekly competitive reactions and for maintaining the channel value proposition.
Defectives/Clearance/Returns – Assists in managing non-salable inventory and returns with the Director of Operations.
Field Communication – Responsible, via the company’s Communications Manager, for providing recurring daily, weekly and monthly communications, for the strategies, tactics, details and results for the company’s respective initiatives, promotions and other opportunities or issues.
Qualifications:

Minimum three (3) years of Executive level experience in retail merchandising, preferably in consumer electronics.
Proven people leadership and development skills.
Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
Possess a high level of integrity – must demonstrate good judgment at all times.
Strong communications (oral and written) and relationship-building skills. Read, speak, write and understand the English language fluently and effectively.
Detail-oriented individual with analytical analysis skills and ability to problem solve.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of the Microsoft suite of office tools: Outlook, Word, Excel (advanced) and PowerPoint.
