This critical role will be responsible for defining and driving the strategic direction of the Global Finance Systems and PMO Services organization to support the long term objectives and mission of Autodesk Finance. The role reports into the CFO and is responsible for understanding key finance processes and systems, creating a long term vision, and in that context identifying opportunities for improvement and driving the necessary change to support transformational business activities. Aligning the long term vision for finance processes and systems with related system changes and roadmaps being driven by other internal groups (Sales and Marketing, GCSO and EIS) will be a critical success factor.

Create a long term vision for finance systems and processes that will support Autodesk’s future go-to-market strategy. Build a multi-year system and process road map that will achieve the long term goal. The roadmap will set out the pathway to the future state, including people, process and data prerequisites and technology tools.
Assess current state capabilities (process, data and technology) and map the gaps between the current state capabilities and the desired future state.
Align the finance vision and roadmap with systems changes and roadmaps being driven by other internal groups (Sales and Marketing, GCSO and EIS) in support of the business model transformation.
Provide guidance on organizations, policies and the way that Finance will deliver against their transactional and strategic responsibilities in the future based on the overall goals of the organization.
Drive the strategy and ownership model around finance reporting systems (statutory and managerial) as well as the overall data strategy for finance data (ex: chart of accounts, revenue, and subscriptions) that are used elsewhere in the company.
Align key stakeholders around a business case for change and work with existing process owners to plan and execute against the established roadmap.
Partner with Enterprise Data Management and Enterprise Information Systems teams to develop architecture and processes to promote data integrity of financial systems.
Review process improvement opportunities across Finance and the related business cases. Work with CFO staff, prioritize opportunities to optimize resources.
Support finance systems, including the revenue mart, BPC and SAP financials and ensure there are adequate procedures in place to sustain operations of these critical systems.
Drive annual strategic planning process as it relates to financial systems and process opportunities. Provide support needed to secure resources per the project governance model.
Manage a team of ~20 program and project managers and provide guidance throughout project lifecycles. Serve as an escalation point for project work.
Serve as spokesperson for the function and continue to drive adoption of business case development and initiation of programs/projects. Provide updates at All Hands, in Newsletters, etc.
Develop staffing model to support the architect function and project demand. Provide regular updates to CFO Staff regarding allocation of resources.
Manage a diverse team of technical and non tech team members and develop career paths for them.
Work with finance business partner to manage quarterly project OPEX.
Critical Competencies:
Minimum of 15 years of applicable work experience
Management experience in a broad range of corporate finance roles
Strong understanding of and experience with finance systems and architecture
Extensive experience developing and leading teams
Strong, demonstrated program and project management skills

Experience with finance IT system implementations
