PayPal is seeking a high caliber, business-minded attorney to lead the legal team supporting PayPal’s business in North and South America. As Head of Legal for the Americas Region, you will be responsible for collaborating with senior business leaders across the Americas on strategic decisions and other matters, including supporting and engaging with the executive leadership team for the Region. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the Americas legal team, setting strategic priorities in line with business goals, and managing resources across a diverse set of geographic and functional areas. You will also work to develop a strong network across legal and the broader PayPal organization to ensure that we leverage the depth and breadth of resources and skills across PayPal. This position will report directly to the Vice President of Legal responsible for supporting PayPal’s business units globally.

10+ years of legal experience practicing either in-house (or in an equivalent setting) or at a reputable law firm.
Management and leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability and passion to lead, influence and partner.
Able to proactively identify issues, provide risk based recommendations and contribute to strategic business conversations.
Demonstrated success delivering on key business priorities.
Creative, solution oriented management of legal matters across varied disciplines and geographies.
Familiarity with businesses challenges associated with regulated products and services.
High-level of intellectual, professional and interpersonal agility and flexibility, combined with strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast paced, innovative environment, embrace change and work with ambiguity.
Exhibits a bias towards action, engagement, transparency and teamwork.
Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously, with effective resolution of conflicting priorities.
Familiarity with, and strong interest in, PayPal, mobile and alternative payments, emerging payments technology and the payments industry, including payments law and financial services regulations.
Ability to manage to a department budget, including budget forecasting and managing outside counsel spend.
Juris Doctorate or equivalent (international) degree. Admitted to a state bar.
