Director - Accessories Product Design - GoPro - San Mateo

Job description
Accessories are a critical part of our product ecosystem. We are seeking a candidate to direct our product development efforts in this category. You will be responsible for guiding and driving teams to develop roadmap accessory products and deliver to cost and schedule targets. You will help us build our team and improve internal processes to ensure that we continue to deliver great products. A high percentage of products we develop go to market, and are used by a growing and very passionate audience.

What You Will Do
Contribute to product roadmap, product definition and product concepts
Guide accessory product concepts through product development process
Drive innovation to ensure that we maintain our market leadership
Collaborate with Product Management, Industrial Design, User Experience, Hardware Engineering, Optics, Quality and Operations teams to deliver products per specification, on-time and at-cost
Communicate technical status to engineering management and executives
Manage resources of global internal teams and external partners and consultants
Contribute to evaluation and improvement of internal processes and tools
Travel to collaborate with design and manufacturing partners or visit trade shows and new suppliers approximately 3-5 times per year

Skills We’re Stoked About
BSME or MSME with minimum 15+ years of relevant product design experience
Team management experience
Technical project management, scheduling, cost analysis and planning
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and resolve conflicting technical requirements
Excellent verbal and written communication skills – you will present to senior management and executive staff
