Job Description
Position -Prudential Fixed Income Management is looking for a Sovereign Analyst to focus primarily on G-10 developed market sovereigns. Individual will be responsible for
1) Analysis of fiscal, political, and balance of payments environments for developed market countries.
2) Liaising with corporate analysts to evaluate implications of the sovereign environment on industrial, financial and quasi-sovereign issuers' creditworthiness; making buy/sell/hold recommendations.
3) Working with the risk management group to develop methodology for evaluating and managing developed country sovereign risk and
4) Assisting with emerging market country analysis on an as needed basis.
The position will report to the Emerging Market team sovereign strategist/portfolio manager.
The ideal candidate will have a
1) Masters level or higher degree in finance or macroeconomics
2) at least 5-10 years of post-educational work experience
3) experience analyzing international sovereigns for creditworthiness, political stability, etc.,
4) experience with publicly traded bond markets,
5) willingness to work with a variety of teams, including corporate credit research and portfolio management, emerging market research and portfolio management, risk management, and others.
The position will be located in Newark, NJ.
