The Solution Architect role is the conversion of requirements into an architecture and design that will become the blueprint for the solution being created. As such, the Solution Architect is usually assigned as a member of the development team and is responsible for transforming the requirements, from the requirements phase, into a set of architecture and design documents that are used by the development team to create the solution. Additionally, the Solution Architect is responsible for identifying technologies to fit the problem being solved and to set standards and define frameworks for using the technology.
Roles And Responsibilities Are
Research, analyze, propose and architect the appropriate IT solution(s) to support the business need.
Support other IT teams involved in the design, construction and implementation of the IT solution.
Communicate and explain the solution to a wide audience to gain consensus on the proposed solution.
Actively support the delivery of such solutions to ensure solution is delivered and functions as designed and architected.
Research emerging technology to develop IT solutions that align with enterprise-wide strategy, current and future business capabilities and vision.
Develop and maintain the application model (conceptual and logical).
Provide expert assistance in solving complex technical problems.
Provide first-level vulnerability assessments.
Conduct risk and gap analysis.
Requirements
Detailed description and years of experience, training, technical skills, and other requirements for job performance:
Minimum of 10 -15 years’ experience as a Solution Architect,
Must have extensive experience working with Public Sector clients, including specific experience working with any state Dept. of Motor Vehicles (DMV).
Experience cultivating and maintaining business relationships with Director level, or above, Government Clients.
Hands-on working knowledge of the Oracle E-Business suite and Siebel CRM will be highly regarded.
Ability to develop various, distinct and multiple technical application solution designs based on business and technical requirements.
Prepares technical solution design documents and blueprints for applications using a variety of design tools.
Ability to facilitate application design reviews and walkthroughs.
Ability to create and evaluate technical alternatives for complex applications.
Ability to explores and evaluate application design considerations for multiple technologies.
Ability to keep abreast with emerging technologies and to incorporate those technologies as warranted within a solution design.
Strong situational analysis and decision making abilities.
Strong oral presentation skills.
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive, relevant work experience in lieu of every year of education. Candidate's that have completed a Master’s degree program strongly preferred.
The job entails an extensive amount of travel. The job also entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face.
