Director Research Discovery Communications San Francisco

Job Description
The Director, Discovery Digital Networks (DDN) Research will oversee the collection, analysis and distribution of data for the DDN business. The Director will support the sales and sales marketing teams by proactively providing insights about DDN’s audience and continuously proving the value of DDN programs and custom integrations for advertisers.

Responsibilities

Establish strong relationships with internal teams to gain an understanding of their strategies, objectives, and tactics
Own data integrity, acting as a trusted, central resource for all DDN metrics
Provide continuous, customized insights regarding our audience, their onsite/offsite behavior and the competitive landscape to key stakeholders to uncover areas for optimization and opportunities to capitalize on consumer trends
Develop reporting dashboards and provide the necessary training and support mechanisms around analytics tools to enable self-service access, tracking and learning
Explore new analytics tools and recommend the best set of providers for holistic measurement
Address data inconsistencies and reporting errors with third party vendors (comScore, Nielsen, etc.)
Oversee the creation of sales materials to highlight DDN strengths and demonstrate leadership in the marketplace
Share and present research findings both internally and externally (agencies/advertisers)

Requirements

Bachelors degree
8+ years of digital research experience
Experience monitoring and reporting on YouTube performance
Presentation experience
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at the same time
Highly organized and detail oriented
Creativity and ability to craft a compelling story
Advanced user of first and third party analytics tools
Must have legal right to work in the United States
