Director Business Development UHS Torrance

Job Description
The Business Development Director directs, manages and coordinates the marketing and business development for all hospital promotional activities.Marketing functions include, but are not limited to, market research, market plan development, advertising and promotion, sales management, product development, product implementation and public/community relations.Business development functions include new business planning, strategic planning, physician recruitment, managed care contract negotiations, provider relations and network development.

Job Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

Directs, supervises and manages Hospital-wide seasonal plans.
Monitors competitive activity within the market place on a daily basis.
Initiates, analyzes and develops a proactive strategic plan.
Directs and monitors the sales of PPO and managed care agreements with the CEO and CFO.
Establishes working relationships with EAP's and provider networks.
Maintains contractual relationships with payers.
Maintains fiscal controls and accountability. Conducts analysis on fiscal viability and profitability of new projects.
Monitors activities of the Marketing Staff.Coordinates account management system, trains and monitors other team members in sales activity, reporting and accountability.
Directs, supervises and reviews all Hospital public relations events.Coordinates events, hospital promotion, print media and relations.
Maintains effective relationships with the Medical Staff promotes the hospital and develops new opportunities to expand business with the Medical Staff.
Serves as a team member to review admissions, discharges, and referral source needs, on a daily basis.
Provides contract update information to team members to enhance referral relationships and customer service.
Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Marketing, Business, Healthcare Administration, and/or health related field preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years sales/direct marketing required.
Experience as a Product Manager or Program Director preferred.
Thorough knowledge and background in sales and healthcare marketing.
Must have working knowledge of budget preparation and control of scheduling, counseling and disciplining of subordinate staff employees.
Must possess a valid California Driver's License in order to drive hospital vehicles or for/on hospital business must be able to provide evidence of insurance that meet the minimum of State of California liability limits.
