Director Value & Access Oncology Transplant Sanofi Cambridge

The Director, Value and Access , Oncology/Transplant is responsible for working within the Sanofi-Genzyme portfolio and partnerships to lead, develop and execute the market access strategy for the current oncology/transplant portfolio as well as pipeline products. This individual will help develop the value story across market access channels and regional payers, working in partnership with the market access, reimbursement, HEOR, sales, and marketing functions to support access initiatives and gain optimal product reimbursement and coverage. The candidate should have experience in specialty pharmacy, reimbursement and policy, with familiarity with developing pricing and contracting strategies and execution.
This individual should aware be of the external Oncology market place trends, recent launches and the integration of pricing, reimbursement and access into the value chain. This individual will report to the Sr. Director of Value and Access, Oncology, is expected to demonstrate independent strategic thinking, and is expected to work with minimal supervision. This role will provide regular updates to key internal stakeholders, on important payer trends and issues and will document payer initiatives and their outcomes.

The role is based in Cambridge, MA.

Key Responsibilities Include:


• Working closely with medical affairs, evidenced based medicine (EBM/HEOR) and market research to identify and analyze trends and/or changes which will influence market access now and in the future.
• Developing strategies and tactics across channels and regions, payers, PBMs, IDNs supporting National Account Directors, Oncology reimbursement managers, Oncology market access team

• Create actionable analytics at the plan and geographical level in order to measure access performance
• Leading and developing payer value and communication platforms, in coordination with US market access, marketing, and medical teams for current and future products
• Creating payer materials for an unbranded disease awareness campaign
• Initiating and managing a team of field champions to gain input and obtain advice on materials and programs to design for payers.
• Developing branded tactics for pull through activities.
• Providing actionable direction to commercial teams on reimbursement issues that impact pharmacy benefits for self-injectable Specialty product.
• Working closely with the Sanofi Genzyme global market access teams to identify opportunities, improve existing tactics, and meet payer needs.
• Managing vendors/agencies as needed, including the development of RFPs, review, selection and milestones achievement towards contract deliverables.
• Interfacing with consumer and HCP marketing colleagues to understand customer needs and insights, as well as payers’ impact on them.
• Developing KPIs and metrics to assess impact of key initiatives.
• Managing the market access budget.

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum level of job-related education: Bachelor’s degree
Experience in Oncology market access
MBA or other graduate level degree preferred
Successful track record in pharmaceutical marketing
Launch experience in Oncology or specialty
Successful marketing experience
Desired Skill Sets:

Candidates must possess the ability to proactively analyze business problems, identify key issues, develop strategic solutions, implement tactical programs, and design metrics to measure business impact
Individual must possess the ability to build consensus in a matrix environment with multiple functional groups supporting the brand team
Previous supervisory experience in marketing with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, influence and lead is a plus
Strong communication skills
Strong financial/analytical skills
Ability to travel approximately 30%.
