Corporate Actions Director BlackRock Wilmington

This is a Director role based in Delaware and reporting to the US Head of Corporate Actions. The successful candidate will work closely with the Regional Heads of Corporate Actions in EMEA, APAC and the US and will be part of the global senior management team responsible for the development and implementation of Corporate Action strategy and governance of operational processes. In addition to being part of the senior team, this role will have certain global responsibility and oversight ownership as defined by the Corporate Actions and Investment Operations management team.
BlackRock’s proprietary operating platform is Aladdin. Within Aladdin there are a number of applications which includes the Corporate Actions Manager (CAM) which facilitates and supports workflow throughout the Corporate Action Event life cycle. Key Responsibilities: • Work with Head group to manage daily production activity, and serve as an escalation point for issues and concerns. • Develop and apply appropriate KPIs and KRIs to hold providers accountable for the quality and delivery of their product. • Work with global Corporate Action managers to identify best practice in BlackRock's processes and drive consistency of process across locations and create tracking logic to monitor efficiencies across all Corporate Action functions. • Represent Corporate Actions in regular provider service review meetings. • Build and maintain constructive relationships with key internal and external contacts and stakeholders. • Serve as a escalation point for team-related operational issues. • Own and enhance comprehensive reporting and metrics for management oversight of the BlackRock Corporate Actions process. • Serve as global coordinator for risk situations, and ensure risk mitigation is properly controlled, documented, and consistently implemented across the Global Corporate Actions team. • Participate in local, regional and global initiatives and projects • Provide regional management support and coverage for functional teams as required • Participate in the development and implementation of Corporate Actions strategy • Maintain awareness of industry developments and how they impact BlackRock Training & Personal Development • BlackRock offers a comprehensive orientation package in addition to relevant Corporate Action systems training. • BlackRock provides extensive opportunities for personal and professional development as well as a robust program of continuous competence and skills training within the Corporate Actions Department. • BlackRock provides an extensive Talent Management program with defined annual objective setting and a twice yearly review process Experience • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior Corporate Action or Risk Management role with a strong understanding of financial markets and investment management. • Senior leadership experience in an operational role, preferably with global responsibilities. • Possess a high level of self- motivation and adaptability. • Comfortable working in a fast paced, constantly changing environment with the ability and desire to drive change in the pursuit of operational excellence • Demonstrate an affinity for teamwork and the ability to contribute as a partner within a global team. • Possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and engage constructively at all levels. • Highly organized with the ability to operate effectively to tight deadlines. • Strong analytical skills with an ability to identify problems and develop solutions. • Excellent attention to detail and understanding of operational processes. • Understand the risks inherent in the corporate actions environment and demonstrate discipline around control and escalation.
