The Plant Quality Director's role is to secure and monitor the implementation of the quality function and system. This position drives decisions and actions to assure customer satisfaction and quality deliverables. The Plant Quality Director will support the shop floor teams in process improvement, containment of product problems, practical application of the Quality Operating System (QOS) and protecting the customer regarding quality deviation of the product.
The Plant Quality Director is responsible for leading the implementation and maintenance of Quality assurance procedures: establishing infrastructure, time & data management, information flow, processes and tools.
Will implement the M&L (Manufacturing & Logistics) principles policy and business plan for quality.
Will deploy the plant quality targets, monitor and report the results and initiate appropriate actions
Secure, support and monitor the correct implementation and application of the standardized quality operating system on the shop floor.
Secure, support and monitor implementation and application of Volvo Car Manufacturing System strategies such as: “Right from me”, Continuous Improvement/Quality & BMS routines; focus on adherence to standard procedures
Organize operational support for the production teams in their role of building quality “right from me” and in their first level of problem solving analysis
Lead execution of quality audits, audits regarding regulatory requirements and sampling testing related to engineering specifications and according to procedures.
Responsible for handling and reporting all incoming material quality deviations to avoid production disturbances
Drive & support the daily operational “PIC-room” meeting
Coordinate, drive and support continuous improvement and Six Sigma application in the plant
Secure and monitor the correct implementation and application of the launch of the quality operating system and provide the Plant Launch Team (PLT) with leadership regarding quality processes, tools and requirements for the launch program

The preferred candidate will possess the following skills:
Bachelors Degree required, in a technical field is preferred. Masters Degree is also preferred.
At least 10 years of progressive quality leadership in prior roles.
Prior experience in an OEM automotive assembly plant is required.
Certification in Six Sigma is preferred.
