Director Supplier Quality Engineering NVIDIA Santa Clara

Seeking a Director of Supplier Quality Engineering to run the US based Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) team. The US SQE team, in conjunction with their Asian counterparts, handles the quality lifecycle for all critical procured electronic components. This lifecycle comprises selection, validation and ongoing monitoring (including failure analysis) during mass production. The SQE team supports all product groups within Nvidia.
Position requires a deep understanding of the IC fab, package and test processes. Experience in leading a global team to assure incoming quality from component suppliers will be a key asset in this role. This position is strategic to ensure compliance of supplier quality performance over the long term, and tactical to attend to Failure Analysis of failed parts from the field and production.

What you'll be doing:
Manage suppliers of all critical components to ensure agreed upon quality metrics are met.
Drive customer concerns, audits (against VDA 6.3), continuous improvement activities and ensure adequate & dedicated customer support from suppliers.
You'll also participate in product roadmap discussions with suppliers
Drive FA capability and capacity at our suppliers. Ensure FA equipment and training is in place for new components
Deliver against the following quality metrics for sustaining production: FA TAT, DPPM level & trends, supplier 8D report scoring
Collaborate with internal organizations to select new suppliers
Ensuring DFM compliance for all new electronic components being requested by product teams
Reporting on supplier performance metrics at different forums, including NVIDIA customer sites
What we need to see:
BS/MS in Engineering
10+ years Quality management in the Semiconductor Industry. Memory experience (all types) is highly preferred
Managing failure analysis process and capability
Supplier management experience, especially against automotive standards
Product engineering experience a plus
Have led or coordinated global teams
Ability to manage multiple supplier critical issues in parallel
Excellent verbal and written skills and able to make effective presentations at Sr. staff meetings
Able to work well in a matrix organization and ensure support and priority from other functional groups for your projects
Effective resolution of critical issues with supplier senior management
Able to successfully handle a dynamic workload with minimal intervention from Management
