Creative UX Optimization Director HP Palo Alto

The User Experience and Optimization Director of HP.com is responsible to lead the creative direction and user experience flows across the digital home of HP Inc. At HP Inc. we are on a new journey to deliver the right personalized experience to our customers as they engage with the new HP Inc. This important leadership role reports directly to the Global Head of Digital Experience Marketing, within the Global Marketing Organization and works strategically across HP’s global business to deliver an inspiring and optimized customer journey ensuring we delight our customer, while designing an experience which drives measurable business results. In this capacity, this new leader will lead a creative team and drive data influenced strategic alignment on the key customer journeys brining to life HP’s offerings across both the consumer and commercial businesses around the globe.
This role will lead the creative direction for HP.com’s digital platform across HP’s corporate business imperatives as well as the Personal Systems, Printing, Imaging and 3D businesses. Frequently interfacing with the CMO and COO level, this role is responsible for the creative direction and development, looking at core processes and strategic creative that drives an amazing customer experience. Reporting into this leader will be the Conversion Optimization Leader, bringing in testing and research, as well as the Creative Innovation team who is responsible for developing what’s next in hp.com digital experiences. The individual will act as a key advisor to executive management in influencing the strategic direction of the business. The ideal candidate will be a ‘big picture’ strategic thinker who is also detail and results-oriented, highly organized and fully committed to flawless execution across everything. A key success factor of this role is to be an inspirational leader who can articulate a vision for how the user experience correlates into conversion rate optimisation capabilities and translates this vision to the digital experience managers as well as company-wide, cross-functional teams. Collaborating with other key functions across the business including regional marketing, direct sales and partner marketing teams. This role will be responsible for ensuring designs and user experience deliver on both the HP brand, customer’s needs and expectations and revenue optimization. The successful candidate will be able to deliver these results through deep partnership across the extended Marketing and Communications team and our internal stakeholder communities including HP Shopping, Sales Operations and Marketing Technology Capabilities.

Responsibilities

Leads digital design efforts and user experience conversion optimization globally for hp.com including hand offs to partner sites such as HP’s direct and channel partner businesses.
Accountable for setting overall initiatives, allocating financial and human capital for programs and projects, and ensuring timely and effective delivery of digital web programs/capabilities and integration into end to end customer journey (via media, new DMP solutions, etc.).
Agencies – We use a mix of in-house studio create and agency engagement. This person in this role and his/her team would be responsible to lead the creative agency engagement for development of the user experience. Prior agency oversite experience is a requirement of the role.
Creative – This leader will lead our internal creative studio for digital design. They will have very hands on role in the direction of the creative working with visual designers and prototypes. This is the core of the function to deliver cutting edge creative which drives the business results. He/she will be overseeing a Creative Leader as a part of the overall team.
Responsible for the overall strategy and development of new business efforts. Leads the development of major new business opportunities including creating new customer interaction methods and journey flows across the site. Leverage core creative from partner marketing and product teams to deliver bleeding edge customer interactions and solutions which drive revenue.
Partner across the organization to communicate strategy and develop key capabilities/ technology, and building business models and economic impacts of creative work.
Leads investment tracking, prioritization and decisions of projects across the organization.
Leads the development, implementation, and maintenance of procedures, and policies, identifying consequences of decisions on a regional or global level and recommending appropriate solutions and areas for improvement.
Consults with business leaders at the EXEC2 and EXEC3 level to drive and influence strategic decision-making within a broad scope (e.g., mitigating risk, approving significant programs/deals).
Responsible for remaining up-to-date on current and emerging trends and technologies in the area of digital and ecommerce and how they can be incorporated into the overall strategy.
Ensures that the marketing strategies and initiatives within area of accountability are integrated with corporate and business strategies.
May be responsible for significant dotted-line employee reporting relationships.
Establish world class journeys from media, search and social acquired traffic through to lead gen and direct ecommerce, zero-touch sales conversion for web
Serve as the main subject matter expert on user experience design and customer conversion rate optimisation for the key, online user journeys & the online ‘browse & buy’ experience other online properties and intersection of HP.com’s work with campaigns, media, content, social, product, 3rd party marketplaces (e.g. Amazon) and products (e.g. Google Shopping)
A deep understanding of the key customer journey & user experience levers that drive e-commerce sales
Exceptional leadership, interpersonal and relationship management skills with a proven ability to self-manage and manage others up, down and across an organisation, often outside of a direct reporting relationship
A strong leader who has managed a team through significant change - First class communication skills with demonstrable success of building strong, effective relationships across functions and geographies and inspiring the teams towards delivering world-class products & experiences
Education and Experience Required

First level university degree with a focus in Design, Business, Marketing or Communications; MBA strongly preferred.
Typically 12+ years of experience in interactive marketing management or exhibiting an exceptionally strong background in some other relevant and applicable area of business.
Typically 6+ years of people management experience.
Knowledge and Skills

Existing agency experience and agency management experience at the holding company level
Segment marketing experience desired, specifically B2B customer journey mapping in addition to B2C
Superior ability to provide ecommerce consultation to senior managers within area of expertise.
Superior understanding of interactive marketing, web marketing and/or ecommerce.
In-depth knowledge in online customer experience (UX), search engine marketing and optimization, web analytics and technologies.
Excellent project management and prioritization skills.
Excellent people management skills, including managing teams across geographies. Proven ability to assess talent and manage talent base to deliver the bleeding edge creative work which drives business results and business value. Strength of talent development to see digital work as a cornerstone of the E2E marketing value chain.
Strong ability to build partnerships across functions and challenging organizations all driven by similar, but often goals with friction and tension points. Ability to manage and prioritize decision with the broader business contents. Strong decision and prioritization abilities as well as the confidence to communicate reasoning at the most senior executive levels, CMO, COO, etc.
