Lead Techncial Architect- Contact Routing American Express - Phoenix, Arizona



Job Description

Customer Contact Capabilities and Services Technologies (CCCS) is a global development team supporting Voice applications across all AXP lines of business, both internally developed and applications purchased from 3rd party vendors. The CCCS portfolio is currently integrated with numerous non-Voice applications on both distributed and mainframe platforms. This position of LTA, will work closely with all CCCS locations and peers across World Service Technologies providing consulting expertise, leveraging business and technical knowledge to support business strategies and deliver business value. CCCS is a global team with presence in US, England, India and Sydney. This position is can be based in Phoenix or Salt Lake City.

Responsibilities include:

* Serve as an expert technical resource and trusted advisor to business partners, and development teams.
* Create and maintain strategic & tactical architecture plans that support World Servicing and CCCS blueprints.
* Provide consulting and technical expertise to business partners, architects and developers; identify and drive opportunities for reuse both within and outside of CCCS platforms.
* Provide direct support to the CCCS portfolio architect and drive alignment of architectural decisions with peers across multiple portfolios.
* Review designs by development teams to ensure solutions are viable, scalable, and will meet performance standards and requirements.
* Provide architectural governance by leading compliance processes and reviewing project technical artifacts to ensure architectural alignment.
* Ability to negotiate amongst multiple technical options, and make solution decisions with varying levels of information.
* Consults with business partners and all levels of leadership, develops presentations, and communicates across different levels of technical understanding.
* Influence technical direction of future CCCS applications.
* Ensures that platform(s) supported meet the business, technical and infrastructure needs by overseeing the health and well-being of the technical infrastructure.
* Interacts with business partners to share and direct architecture practices that may affect business solution delivery.
* Performs research and development to evaluate emerging technologies and their potential to optimize the platform. Responsible for setting up and driving architectural design and code reviews.
* Plays an integral role in building and enhancing the infrastructure required to support the platform(s) or set of applications in terms of robustness, scalability, availability and efficiency. Works with Business Architects to ensure development support the business and IT strategic plan.

Desired Skills & Experience


* Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field (or has equivalent work experience) preferred.
* 4 years minimum, demonstrated, hands-on experience in data modeling, data transformation and/or business intelligence related enterprise development.
* 6+ years of proven experience in delivery of large projects with distributed teams.
* Detailed Call Routing Product experience.
* Computer Telephony Integration experience.
* Hands on knowledge and understanding of architecture, requirements analysis, applications systems design and integration, with a detailed understanding of application design, configuration and integration of third party software products.
* Thorough understanding of scalable, secure and robust n-tier architectures for achieving end-to-end performance, scalability, availability, reliability, usability, configurability, integration and security.
* Ability to work with business partners and articulate technical trends / concepts and design / implementation considerations.
* Strong consultative skills; leadership presentation skills, excellent ability to translate technical language and architecture into understandable business statements.
* Typically has prior experience in multiple IT voice disciplines with a proven understanding of architectural concepts (data, technical and solution), issues and trends.
* Strategic thinker, able to combine technical skills with overall business strategy to generate creative solutions.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to work with business partners and articulate technical trends/concepts and design/implementation considerations.
* Ability to negotiate amongst multiple technical options and make solution decisions with varying levels of information.
* Experienced with AET technical standards and governance processes.
* Experience with call center related Telephony and Voice Servicing applications considered a plus (eg, Outbound Dialers, Call Routing, Call Recorders, ACD, CTI integration
